Are you considering switching careers but clueless on how to do it? Are you struggling to communicate with your husband or with your parents? Is your marriage heading to Splitsville? Would you like to finally take control of your life and be happy? Then, you need a life coach.
Here’s how you can find the perfect life coach for you:
1. Rely on recommendations. Talk to your friends, colleagues, and even family members who have sought the help of a life coach in the past. Get to know the names of the coaches and ask your loved ones if they will recommend these coaches to you. What I do is I ask my friends to rank their coaches from 1-10 so I’ll know which ones I’ll check out first.
2. Set an appointment with the most highly recommended coaches. Trim down the number of coaches that you are going to check out by going with the 5 most recommended. Call these coaches and set an appointment. These people will surely not mind giving you a free consultation as they know that this can turn into a business relationship.
3. Plan ahead. Write down all the questions that you want to ask these coaches to make sure that you will not forget anything on the big day. You can ask about their credentials and qualifications, their approaches about certain issues, etc. You can also get proof of their success in this field and their portfolio if they have any. You can also ask some personal questions that you think will play crucial part during the entire coaching process. Let me give you an example; if you are seeking help on how to save your marriage, you would want to ask your future coach his/her relationship with his spouse to see if he/she is the right fit for your case.
4. Assess the coaches. Make some mental notes during the free consultation that can help in making a well-informed decision. Is the coach willing to listen to you? Does he know how to empathize? Do you like him? Do you feel comfortable working with him? Do you like his approach in coaching other people? Do you think he can offer you with everything you need to solve your problems or to reach your goals? You need to know all of these things before you sign up to make sure that you’ll get what you want.
